Our founder's passion for natural hair began on a college campus shuttle, where an innocent question about hair care led to a powerful realization. It wasn’t just about hair—it was about perception, empowerment, and ownership. After hearing an unsettling comment about why Black women wear weave, our founder decided to stop relying on others for beauty standards and embrace her natural hair.
From that day forward, she committed to helping Black women redefine their relationship with their hair. This brand isn’t just about products—it’s a movement to celebrate our natural beauty, educate on hair care, and prove that yes, our hair can grow long, strong, and beautiful.
"After becoming a mom, I found myself in a place I never expected—postpartum depression, hair loss, and a loss of who I was. I’d always been a creative spirit who found joy in beauty, self-care, and discovering new products at stores like Target and Ulta. But in those dark days, even the simplest joys felt out of reach.
What pulled me back was remembering who I was before becoming a mom. Self-care became my lifeline, and I wanted to use only the cleanest products while breastfeeding. A hair growth oil gifted by a coworker sparked my journey back to health and happiness—and so many compliments on my hair’s transformation!
Inspired, I worked with her to create my own formula focused on split ends, adding my personal touch with herbs and oils. That first product became the foundation of Café Hair Co. Today, my mission is to empower Black women to rediscover themselves through caring for their hair, their crown, and their confidence."
